Blast from the Past | My old iPod
I was certain you wouldn’t be able to find my old iPod for sale anymore. Out of curiosity I searched for it on eBay and actually found one just like mine! I don’t know why this brought me excitement, but it did.
I think it had something to do with nostalgia. When devices had a primary, very focused, purpose. It was made to jam out and lose yourself in music. And that’s exactly what I did.
Going through my old playlists from 10 years ago brought a rush of memories. It took me back to the odd hours of the night in Baltimore when my flatmate and I snuck around back alleys. Cold spray paint cans in our hands and the still of night were broken with loud percussions and horns from Ghostface Killas-Biscuits (great track and one of my all time fav rappers).
I miss hip-hop from back then. I feel like rappers had to utilize real effort to come up with the wordplay they’d speak over the beats.
The best part of finding my old iPod was being able to compare it to my iPhone. It’s amazing to see the progression Apple has made in the last 10 years. How amazing is the speed at which technology progresses? I hear people complain about the annual updates, saying that the company has lost it’s innovative edge, but if you compare the devices from just 10 years ago, it’s amazing.
